Playful cats, cosy knit — the cardigan that proves comfortable doesn’t have to look ordinary

I’ve always believed that the best clothes are the ones you can put on in the morning and almost forget you’re wearing.

Soft, comfortable, nothing restrictive — especially once the cooler months arrive and I start reaching for an extra layer most days.

The only problem is that my most comfortable clothes have traditionally also been my least interesting ones.

That’s what caught my eye about the Moxley cardigan from Merritt London. It looked cosy, but instead of another plain knit, it had those lovely little cats running across it.

It simply made me smile.

It has a soft knitted feel and a relaxed shape, with enough room to wear a simple top underneath. The button front also means I can leave it open when the house is warmer and button it up when I want that extra bit of cosiness.

I hardly have to think about what goes with it

Because the Moxley already has plenty of personality, I keep everything else simple.

Jeans and a plain top. Dark trousers and comfortable shoes. That's about it.

The cardigan does the interesting bit for me, which makes it surprisingly easy to wear for coffee, shopping or simply spending the day at home.
